Fire Safety
This one day course is designed for any person or group of people working in a
social care setting. Based on legal requirements the course is practical*,
interactive and surprisingly lively.
The course will reflect the organisations related Health & Safety policy and
can be adapted to be held in a work situation so that participants may gain
maximum benefit from the session.
The course certificate will provide NVQ and CIS links.

-identification of people at risk
Safe evacuation of the workplace
How to identify potential fire hazards within the workplace
Suitable prevention measures to reduce the likelihood of fire
How the knowledge of the properties of fire can be applied when tackling a
fire safely
What fire fighting equipment is and should be available
The principles of extinguishing a fire
How to use a fire blanket
How to record appropriately
What is required to maintain fire equipment
* A practical exercise demonstrating the use of fire extinguishers is not
included in this course.
