Managing Care & Support Plans
This one day workshop is designed for Team Managers working in
all settings who supervise staff in the provision of support for service
users.
The workshop aims to promote good practice and a consistent approach to
support/care planning .The workshop should provide participants with the
opportunity to explore and understand why effective care planning is
important and their role and responsibilities in their use.
Please note:
Managers would be provided with the programme in advance of the training and
would be expected to prepare for the workshop in advance.
Learning objectives:
By applying the concepts and strategies explored in this session learners
should be able to:
• Explain to others the core components of Care/Support planning (the 5
elements)
• Recognise the importance of a good Care/Support plan in supporting service
users
effectively
• Discuss how Care/Support plans are negotiated between those involved
• Describe why Care/Support plans may need to change and how to promote
changes
• Write up a Care/Support plan incorporating key components
• Recognise their responsibility for the implementation of the Care/Support
plan as agreed with the service user
• Identify approaches to ensure all staff within the organisation follow the
agreed plan
