Supervision Level 3 (Advanced) (3 days)

This course completes our Supervision triad and focuses on the professional and challenging issues generated within a supervisory framework. Issues tacked include resistance, disciplinary issues, mental health needs, stress, group supervision, couples work, Supervising the Supervisor and much more
This course is an element of the Advanced Diploma in Supervision (accredited by the Open College)

Learning objectives:

By the end of this course learners should:


• be able to identify their strengths and areas for development as Supervisors
• understand how to approach supervising a Supervisor
• understand how Supervision supports staff experiencing stress or mental distress
• understand how to apply a pairs and group model of Supervision

Course content:

• Review of current work
• Supervising and appraising the Supervisor
• Games people play in Supervision (Dealing with manipulative behavior)
• Working with Transference and other psychological mechanisms
• Identifying and dealing with psychological ill health
• Working with couples
• Group Supervision
• Open workshop time
• Self-evaluation

• Supervision exercises

This course is designed to include workshop time when individual participants will have the opportunity to explore their own Supervision issues.
